Ladies and Gentlemen, the Volunteers at the Kent Battle of Britain Museum Trust at Hawkinge are very pleased and excited to announce an amazing opportunity to purchase a very limited edition ‘Negative Ghost Rider, The Pattern is Full!’ an A4 Gloss Photograph of the now famous moment when Tom Cruise’s character, Maverick (actually Captain Lloyd V. Abel) buzzed the Tower at Miramar Naval Air Station and signed by the one and only US Navy Top Gun fighter pilot, Captain Lloyd V. Abel USN (Ret’d)!
We are asking £75.00 for each limited-edition print (Number 1 of 100 will be auctioned separately). To reserve your copy please drop Dave an email via info@kbobm.org Just remember when they are gone, they are Gone!
The Kent Battle of Britain Museum Trust is very lucky that Captain Lloyd V. Abel aka ‘Bozo’ is a friend and supporter of the Museum and following a visit to the Museum in August 2018. ‘Bozo’ on hearing about our appeal to purchase six sets of Battle of Britain pilot / aircrew medals from a private collection in New Zealand, contacted the Museum and asked what he could do to help!
‘Bozo’ and his good friends Steve Williams, Howard Cole, and our Dave came up with the idea of the Museum commissioning 100 limited edition ‘A4’ gloss photos of ‘Negative Ghost Rider, The Pattern is Full’ which shows the now famous moment when Tom Cruise’s character, Maverick (actually Captain Abel) buzzes the tower at Miramar Naval Air Staton on 25th June 1985.
Captain Lloyd V Abel aka Bozo flew the aerial fly-by sequences for the classic ‘Top Gun’ Motion Film in his F-14A Tomcat BUNO 160665.
This is the first time that Captain Lloyd Abel (R’td) has signed a limited-edition print / photo of one of the iconic moments from the classic Top Gun Motion Film.
If you search ‘Tom Cruise and Bozo’ through your search engine, you will hear some amazing stories related by Tom Cruise when he flew with Bozo for the very first time!
To date we have raised an amazing £35,253.27 (£32,796.76 + £2,456.51 in Gift Aid) of the £58,000 required to purchase and thus preserve these six historic medal-sets awarded to members of ‘The Few’ – who helped save Britain from Nazi invaders in the summer of 1940.
Thanks to Captain Lloyd V. Abel, Steve Williams and Howard Cole this rare opportunity to purchase one of these limited-edition prints could potentially raise another £7,500.00 towards the acquisition of these medal groups.
