Location: Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum

Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum will be launching their new exhibition ‘Rebuilding Heroes’ on Friday 12 November.

This exhibition focuses on the poignant and uplifting story of the Guinea Pig Club – a social group formed by a group of young men during their recovery after receiving experimental plastic surgery treatment for burns sustained during their service in the Second World War.

Learn about pioneering plastic surgeon Sir Archibald McIndoe and the link to nearby Rauceby hospital; an untold piece of local history, this is a heart-warming reminder about the power of positivity.

Visit the Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum website for opening times.
