South East Aviation Heritage Network

About Us.

The South East Aviation Heritage Network exists to protect and promote the many historic sites in the area known as ‘11 Group’ during World War Two. 11 Group, formed in 1936, was the first RAF Fighter Command group to be set up and was tasked with the air defence of Southern England, including London. It achieved fame during the Battle of Britain when, because of its position, it bore the brunt of the Luftwaffe’s aerial attacks.

Most of the members listed on our website are charities and many of them are run by volunteers. All of them work hard to provide a great day out and would welcome your support. Take a look at the great range of locations on this website and start planning your next day out!
